Rand Paul’s Amendment Would Abolish the Draft

If Rand Paul gets his way, the draft could be a thing of the past.

The Washington Examiner reports:

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., has introduced an amendment to the Senate’s fiscal 2017 defense policy bill that would do away with the draft entirely.

Paul’s amendment is just one of many that have been introduced for the defense spending bill. However, the topic of conscription has been on the mind of many legislators this year as Congress debates whether women should be forced to register for the draft.
